To whom it may concern,

My problem is basic in principle, I just really am clueless as how to even approach it.

Please see uploaded file to see what I mean.

In the "Selection" tab - the output fields highlighted in green needs to be databased in the "Database for Answers" in their respective highlighted fields when a selection such as: "Answers 1" all the way through to "Answers 12".

Thank you, any input would be greatly appreciated.

I will wait patiently for answers, but I will still continue to search for ways & further educate myself on excel.

You mean to say that, whenever there is a selection change on selection sheet in A1, the output should go in respective answer on database for answer sheet?

I am not able to see what the objective of this exercise is.

You already have all the answers listed on the Answers tab , in the same order ; what is the point of selecting the answer number on the selection tab , and having the same answers come into the tab through formulae , and then transfer these answers to the database through a macro ?

I understand your question, the excel spreadsheet I uploaded is a "replicated" problem that I have with an existing company spreadsheet which of course is highly confidential. The Answers tab represents cells which constantly change & the Selection tab is what I need databased.

So the objective is for me to understand how that particular set of values would be databased through this set up.

Can excel temporarily save a cell elsewhere?

Example: A1 = 5*5 = 25
Now is there a function that can save that answer (25) in another block ie B1 even when A1 changes it's answer?

Can excel database an answer to an equation?

I don't think what you are asking can be done through formulas. As formula depends upon constants and variables which can be ref. to cell address or can be hard coded. Formula result will change every time your change cell values.

May be VBA can help you in doing what you want.

Tyrone, why not just use a cell reference.
 
Hi ,

If you want that when ever a particular cell's contents change , the contents of a designated block of cells should be transferred to another tab , this is easily done by VBA , using the Worksheet_Change event procedure.
