How to Find Formula Syntax in Excel

SRICHARAN

New Member
Hello,
Am Using Excel 2013.
As we know that every formula has a syntax
Example :- =VLOOKUP(lookup_value, table_array, col_index_num, [range_lookup])
it appears when we type the function name and open the bracket to write the formula
but, is there any formula or a function or a option in excel to show the formula text in a separate cell
like when u use formula text function it shows the formula text of the referred cell.
Please Help me With any function or an option with which i can list out syntax of all formulas in the excel.
Hope its possible.
Thank you in Advance.

Hi Sricharan,

Welcome to the forum..

I am not aware if there is a way to get the text of the formulas..

But can surely get the specifications in the fx window that is placed on the immediate left of the formula bar.

You can track your required formula and then look at its specifications and what will be the output based upon..

Hope this helps a bit...:)

Good day Sricharan

The link srinidhi has posted will help you but I do not know of any formula/function that does as you want and display the syntax of the formula.
