David's Diabolical Disappearing Dropdowns

Have created a worksheet that new hires can use to calculate net salary and plan for living expenses. It contains a few dropdowns used to select Pay Frequency and Federal and State - they are greyed out on the worksheet. When I try to run this on another persons computer, the "dropdowns" disappear - what's behind this?

I uploaded the file - anyone willing to check if the dropdowns disappear when they open it?

Thanks for checking - so why are they not working on these other machines ..... I'd better check the versions ....

Hi David

I just opened the file in Excel 2003 and the drop downs have disappeared. I suspect it has failed as the drop downs are referenced to a second sheet and 2003 does not like that.

Working fine on 2010 but yes disappears on 2007

This is an area of Excel that catches many, not every thing is compatible with all versions and many questions are posted about xyz not working on another machine but still works on the first machine.....Compatibility is the main problem.

Thanks folks - I suspected as much ....
As bobhc pointed out, I am one of the many caught in this awful Seattle designed trap.
