Charts with Radio button

I need to create two radio buttons and with selecting the radio button the desired chart needs to be selected:

I have gone through these steps:

Make individual views of the data in different cell ranges.

2. Name each range uniquely, like chtRng1 for tabular view and chtRng2 for percentage comparison view etc.

3. Insert radio buttons (option buttons) from developer ribbon > forms, one each for a different view.

4. Now, link all the radio buttons to same cell. That way, when select a view the linked cell would show corresponding number.

5. Create a named range called chtSel and point it to a CHOOSE formula that would select the corresponding named range defined in (2)

6. Now, select any few cells, press CTRL+C and paste them as a picture link. (tutorial on picture links).

7. Select the picture link, go to formula bar and type =chtSel

When I go through step 7, it says the reference is not valid. Do I need the named Range which is called chtSel should be linked to anywhere? Basically it doesn't pick up the cell and shows #Value on other cases.

I followed your steps, step by step

ended up with these Named Formulas

ChtRng1 =Sheet1!$A$1:$E$15

ChtRng2 =Sheet1!$M$1:$Q$14

chtSel =CHOOSE(Sheet1!$X$1,ChtRng1,ChtRng2)

and when I copy a Range and Paste as a Picture

I enter =chtSel

I get a nice picture of my range

If I change the value in X1 it changes

When you say Radio Button, I assume you mean Option Button ?

What version of O/S & Excel are you using ?

Hello Hui,

Yes, when I said Radio Button, I meant Radio Button. It did work, thank you for the help. I am using Excel 2010 at home and at work 2007.

I am mainly insert Column Chart and Pie Charts, I am looking for ways to present the data in a different way. Any Tips or Links?

Thank you very much.

Hui,

Sorry...

I have to correct something here. Radio button means option button, in some places, option button is called radio button. Sorry for confusion, I came back to see what I have received in the response, I noticed what I have put down is not right. Sorry....

Thank you

I use the term Radio Button myself and so understood what you meant, MS calls then Option Buttons and so I try to use the correct terminology in my posts so as to avoid confusion.

Hi,

I have followed the exact step as above.

But while doing below step

=chtsel i get a error saying "Reference is not Valid".

Request you help here

Thanks in advance

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org forums.

I am going to assume you are using Excel 2007?

Can you post a copy of your file for us to review
