Cell reference in another excel sheet

I have two excel sheets in a workbook.

Sheet one contains columns for FIRST NAME and LAST NAME.
Sheet two contains a number of fields performing string translations on these fields.

How can I automate the process of cycling through the rows of first name/last name rows on sheet one while remaining on sheet two?

Is there a way, for example to enter a row number and pull cell values from first sheet to the second sheet?

Hi Chris ,

Your problem specification is very general , and can be interpreted in several different ways ; I have not understood what your requirement is , but with my interpretation , the answer is yes , since that is what formulae are meant to do.

Can you take one specific example , with references to cell addresses , and explain what you want to do ?

Worksheet A has column 1, First Name, and column 2, Last Name.

a1: Bob
b1: Smith
a2: Sam
b2: Jones
etc.

Worksheet B has a column of calculations, taking the values from Worksheet A columns 1 and 2 and performing a number of string operations on them. For simplicity sake, lets say Worksheet B will output:

"BobSmith"
"SmithBob"

Without having to switch between worksheets to copy cell values or references, how can I have Worksheet B incrementally workthrough the data in Worksheet A, row by row?

Hi Chris ,

If in cell A1 on SheetB , you have the formula =SheetA!A1 & SheetA!B1 , then the cell will display BobSmith. The formula tells Excel to concatenate the two values to be found in cells A1 on SheetA and B1 on SheetA.

Now , if you copy this formula to cell A2 on SheetB , then this cell will display SamJones.
