Access Right Base on Login ID

I wanted to give the access right to my Excel spreadsheet to users based on their Login ID.
Basically,
1) Read-only - not allowed to input and save, only can open the spreadsheet to view data.
2) Read/Write/Save - not only can view, changes and save are allowed.
Is it possible?

Many things are still possible, but
if You change layout of 'some sheets' then some functionality won't work anymore!
... as You did!
Now, that 'previous' functionality would work again.

One sample, how that would be possible to do ...
I didn't start to test all [im]possible cases of it.

Perhaps less watertight, you could protect the sheet with permission settings and allow (a group of) users to edit specific ranges.

Thanks GraH for sharing.
will need to try it as my workbook was used by different users based on their windows login ID from 2 different domain.
Not sure it works for 2 different domains. Depends on the network configuration I suppose. Not my expertise at all. But please come back with some intel if it works or not.
