I am trying to get the table from a web page direclty. This is first time I am learnin/using this function and haven't quite got a grip on it.

The problem is that there are some occasions that it won't let me select data. Also I can't even select what data I want. It let me select the whole table and on few occasion the query data is a mess in my spreadsheet (headings are like miles away from data source lol).

For some reason this first link data is quite alrite except I can't select few single portion of the data.

Please help me with this on how this function is suppose to work. Can I get the data from websites which needs login credentials ?

Thanks you all for your time.

Regards.

Hi ,

The Excel web query works with data in the form of tables ; the first link has several of them , and Excel allows you to select and import them.

The second link does not have any tables as such.

The following two links will give you more information on this subject :

Hi NARAYANK991,

Thanks for helping me on this. I am going to do few research on the link you've provided.

Currently I am having a little bit of problem with the excel data query browser. It is giving me script error everytime i open a link with an option to stop script (yes, no). Any idea what is wrong and how to fix it.

I would also like to use chrome or firefox rather than IE, if it is possible please :)

Regards.

To add to Narayank991's list, here's an article dealing directly with accessing tables that require a login:

Yep, doesn't matter which page I open with the excel browser, shall I put. It shows script error :(

Thanks Luke M & NARAYANK991 for your awesome help !
