Using error bars in a Gantt chart

Hi,

I'm using the excellent Chandoo's dashboard kit to create my own.

I do have a problem though with the gantt charts that use error bars to separate the gantt's building block one from each other. In my chart they are all adjacent...

What do I need to do in order to separate them?

I added an example how Chandoo's gantt looks like and how is mine.

Thanks for your support.

Hi ornshrn,

I think you could solve that from the Format Data Series option, by playing with the series overlap. But to be honest, I'm not sure but it is worth a try :)

Otherwise, would you mind uploading the real chart including the source? It would then be easier to test.

Otherwise 2, someone else from the forum will come up with a brilliant idea solving your problem in 2 clicks... ;)

Cheers,

Hi ,

I am not so sure that it is only a problem with the error bars ; the scales in the two pictures appears to be different ; Chandoo's uses a much longer scale than yours , and the data may itself be such that the Gantt bars are separated from each other.

Can you upload your working data ?

Hi Narayan,

Thanks for the your suggestion. The solutin you presented solve the horizotal gaps and I'm trying to separate/enlarge the vertical gaps so the durations will not adjacent each other.
