Could anyone help me on this?

Sheet1 have names and birthdays

What I hope to do is show this month's birthday celebrants on sheet 2.

I think this is easy but I can't figure out how to do it. Thanks a lot!

Hi Narayan,

Please see attached file. The list of names and birthdays are in Sheet1 and would like to have only the names and birthdays that will occur for the current month on Sheet2

OK, so I tried to play a bit and tried adding another column on sheet1 for start date and wanted the same idea for the birthday for hiredate anniversary but on another column on sheet2. I tried copying the formula you had and changed the reference cell but I can't seem to get the correct results. Every time I add a row above the cells with formula, the result for the hiredate changes as well. Can you help again?

Hi ,

The formula which has been used is what is called an array formula ; to get such formulae to work correctly , they have to be entered not by copying and pasting or by typing and pressing the ENTER or cursor movement keys ; they need to be entered by using the key combination of CTRL SHIFT ENTER.

Doing this will convert the formula into an array formula , and Excel will display the curly braces { and } around the formula in the formula bar.

When you copy and paste such formulae , what you need to do is , after the formula has been pasted , press the F2 key to switch to EDIT mode , and then press the key combination of CTRL SHIFT ENTER.
