Hi! I've been stuck on this all day and I can't find anything to help me :(

We have an internal program that we export data from in order to find statistics. This lists item numbers, dates, categories, etc. There are multiple line items in this report with the same date and different categories.

What I'm looking for is something along these lines of this:

If the date range=specific date and if the category=named range, mark "YES".

Eventally I want to be able to count the numebr of days in between certain categories. If I could do that without a helper cell I would like the above it would be great!

In the example I attached I'm trying to get out of manually inserting yes.

Please let me know if this all makes sense...

Obviously your data is longer than 17 Rows

If it is a real killer it could possibly be done with helper columns that may simplify the calcs and make it swifter

Haha yeah. It pulls data from a separate worksheet that contains anywhere from 300 to 1000+ rows. The data is imported weekly. And I need to run this for 8 other sheets on top of that. What I've done to help alleviate this is just copied the values for the rows that most likely won't have any data changed when imported .

Hi Hui, sorry to bring this up again but could you please elaborate on the possiblility of inputing the helper cells.

This worksheet is going to be the death of me. If I didn't feel losing mey job I would post the sheet on here. :(

Hi ,

I am sure the file you uploaded is a sample file , which may or may not have any resemblance to your actual data ; if you can upload a file which has your real data , it will be easier to put in the helper column. The uploaded file need not have all the rows of data , but if it has even a dozen rows it will do.

Basically , what is needed is :

a. Whether the list of keywords to search for is present

b. Whether the summary table is date-wise

c. Whether the output is required in YES / NO form
