Preventing Excels Default Behavior

Hello Friends,

I'm encountering an issue when copying records from a database and pasting them into Excel. Excel appears to automatically remove leading and trailing spaces from the data, as well as trim leading zeros, which alters the original format of the data.

I need to preserve the data exactly as it appears in the source. I've tried using Paste Special and also importing the data via Get Data (From File -> From Text/CSV), but neither method has prevented Excel from transforming the data.

Could someone please advise on how to ensure that Excel retains the original formatting of the pasted or imported data from a database?

Format/import/use those columns as text.

Can you also please tell me, where is this Import option under Format located in Microsoft 365 ? I do not see them.

I use other version of Excel.

I've only few csv-files ... but ...
it should be possible to do with step 3

As written in #4 reply - with a sample file - it's much better to get solutions.
