Possible Bug?

I'm trying to edit the font & size of the Radio Button text (from Form Controls), but when I access the properties of said menu there is no tab for Font. When looking this up online every screenshot I've seen looks identical to my excel (2013) but they have a font tab in the radio button properties, and I don't (though I have every other tab).

How can I edit the font of the radio buttons without that tab? Or how can I get this tab?

Hi Andrew,

I don't think changing this property of Form Control is possible, try ActiveX control. There you can change font / font size.

Regards,

Are you certain?

I already have about 200 radio buttons present in the application I'm building so I don't think I can redo them all. If you're certain that it's not possible to change them let me know :)

If that *is* the case and I can't change the font, is there a way I can easily change all of my form controls to ActiveX controls?

Well, if there would have been a direct option of changing it, it would not have been hidden.

You can use vba to insert this n number of times. If you can upload a sample file, than may be we can help.

Sure, here's a sample of two questions from my form. I just want to change the text font next to the radio (aka option) buttons. If anyone can help I'll be very grateful!

You may have to wait for a day, to let me work on it. Is there only this one sheet in your workbook with say around 200 questions and each question with 4 options?

Hi ,

Firstly , the font size is not so small that it needs to be increased ; if at all you wish to have a bigger sized font , can you not increase the zoom ?

Secondly , when ever such controls are used , it is useful to have the text for the option button separated from the option button itself , so that you can have it in different sizes , colours , highlighted / not highlighted ,... More formatting options are available if the text is in worksheet cells.

@AndrewS

Above suggestion of Narayan Sir, is very much reasonable. Instead of making a code it will be better if we utilize worksheet functions itself.

Give your thought on this.

That is precisely my backup plan for if I can't edit the radio button text. I will have to rearrange the radio buttons so that they line up nicely with the cells, and then just enter text in the cells. Though it would be simpler if I could just edit that damn text.

The 200 or so buttons I have are spread between 7 tabs.

I would simply upload the beautiful program I'm proudly working on but I think that might be a breach of contract. I'm not being paid to code excel but unfortunately it still falls under my privacy umbrella. I hope some day to be able to share the program, but at the very least I can show it off in a video or something. It will be the most extensive and badass thing I have ever programmed :)

Edit: I forgot to reply to the other kind gentleman. Zoom is not an option because of the accompanying graphs and amount of stuff we have to fit on the big screen (with not so big resolution) that we show clients. That will ultimately be the only way we interact with the form and it's all about smoothness of operation with these people so we can't play around with it. It just has to flow.

@Somendra Misra, any luck so far? I might have to spend a day or two manually doing this in the cells and rearranging my boxes if I can't simply edit the fonts. I don't mind doing it but wouldn't want to spend all that time if it were avoidable!

A possible fix crossed my mind: could it be a difference in versions? I'm going to repost this with that heading to see if anyone can help identify it in their version.

I believe you have revived the best answer, as Somendra Misra pointed out, I don't think this is a bug as you put it.

I'm just curious as to if anyone else is able to edit this in their version of excel, which would be good to know. Have you tried in yours before posting?

As said earlier, I found a couple of guides and they showed the option available, but in mine the font tab doesn't appear in the properties window of the Form Control radio button.
