Need help on vlookup to sum the value

Hi,

I need the help on vlookup forumula

For Ex:

Sheet 2 contain the following table

Fruit Name Count
Apple 2
Orange 3
Apple 5

Output
Sheet1
Apple =7 ( By using the vlookup formula, I want to sum the value)

Please help me on this.

Hi ,

Rather than use the VLOOKUP function , use the SUMIF function.

Thank you Narayan.. I tried this logic but it did not come well for my scenario.

Please find the attached file where it consists of two sheets- Consolidated & Capacity approved. I want to bring the value from Capacity approved sheet of J column to consolidated sheet - J column(Approved capacity). I tried sum if column but it does not work for me
