Linking text figures from 2 spreadsheets to 1 spreadsheet in sequence

MIXING

New Member
Ok, so I have 2 spreadsheets each with text and figures and I want to link them both to a third spreadsheet and I want the third spreadsheet to "know" to put the information in sequence. For example there is spreadsheet A,B and C. A and B are linked to C. If I update A and B, then I want C to "know" to put the information from B in the line following the information from line A automatically.

Below is another example:

Spreadsheet C

Info from linked spreadsheet A

Info from linked spreadsheet B

Info from linked spreadsheet B

Info from linked spreadsheet A

If this doesn't make sense, please let me know.

Thank you

Good day MIXING

This sounds very much like a re-hash of this post

Trying to force members to answer a question that has already been answered is frowned on.

The post link shows that those that took the time and trouble to answer your original question pointed you in the right direction, however I post a video link that will talk and show you the steps required.

It is similar but not the same. This question is not as simple as linking information from one sheet to another. The data in sheets A and B pertain to expenses for different months and, for example, the information is entered into rows 2 through 24 in both sheets. So what I'm asking is if there is a way to "tell" sheet C, the receiving sheet, that if it has information in row 5 to enter the information in line 6, irregardless of whether the information comes from sheet A or B.

Thank you

How does it know what order to put things? Why not put everything from A, then everything from B? Or alternate (a,b,a,b, etc)?

This issue sounds very similar to one I answered here: http://chandoo.org/forums/topic/creating-a-priority-table-from-multiple-tables

Have a look at that, Mixing and see if it looks promising.

Thanks Luke/Jeff, just got a chance to take a look at this.

Luke, thats the problem I'm trying to solve is how to program the spreadsheet so it orders them upon entry.

Jeff, thanks for the link, so far it looks way over my head, but give me a couple days to take a look at it and give it a try.

Hi, MIXING!

If you don't explicitly state which is the priority order from A & B how do you imagine to get a solution for C? It's like the paradox of the egg and the hen.

Regards!
