Somendra Misra Excel Ninja Aug 8, 2014 #5 You can use =POWER(2.048383,1/3) or in general =Number^(1/Nth root) e.g =8^(1/3) will give 2. Regards,

Hui Excel Ninja Staff member Aug 9, 2014 #7 You can also solve this using Goal Seek Setup 3 cells Note the formula for Cell D3 =Power(B3, C3) Now goto Goal Seek Data, What If Analysis, Goal Seek We want to Set Cell: D3 to a value: of 8.00000000 by Changing cell: B3 Ok You need to be careful here as if you enter a value of 8 instead of 8.00000 Excel may find a slightly wrong result Try it for yourself
