I don't have any special knowledge about new versions of Excel. But my work made me immerse in this program. I need to send reports in the form of an excel-table. I'm using version 2016. In general, recently a crash happened during the operation, and the report file was closed incorrectly. Now an error occurs when opening. The file may be damaged. I still want to save the file.

2. Select to Open File
3. Select the file you want to repair
4. Click the arrow next to the Open button and select Open and Repair

I don't know great program can repair excel. I visited Google and found there some interesting and helpful resources, one of it you may apply to your excel document, good luck...

The first thing to try is to open it with the Repair option in Excel. You can do this by clicking on File and then Open. In the Open dialog box, single click on the Excel file and then click on the small arrow next to the Open button.

Go ahead and click on Open and Repair and you’ll get a message asking if you want to repair, which will recover as much data as possible or if you simply want to extract data, which will copy out the formulas and values.
