How to take out the Week No in a Month

Request you to kindly help with a formula which will read the week number of the current month.

For eg : today is 10th Oct 2014 and is the 2nd week of the month Oct

What are the rules for determining this? This assumes that the first of any month is the first day of week 1.


=CEILING(DAY(TODAY())/7,1)

Try this :

=WEEKNUM(A1,2)-WEEKNUM(A1-DAY(A1)+1,2)+1

where I have assumed that the week starts on a Monday , A1 having the date of interest.
