How to protect and Block sheets in excel

Hi,

I have several sheets in my workbook,

I would like to do the following -

  • Prevent users from seeing other sheets and can only see theres.
  • Password protect all sheets.
  • I don't want users to see all the other sheets, should only be able to see there sheet which will be password protected.

  • Any help friends

Excel was not designed for multi users if that's what you want use Access, with Access you can control what users can do, what they can see far better than Excel, protection in Excel is very weak and it would not take long for some one the break any protection you tried to install

Is there any good reason why have to have that kind of workbook?
Could everybody have 'own workbook'?
Anyway, it's possible to do, but as bobhc told above,
... if someone really wants to see others sheets someone could see!
... no matter which program You would use.
If You would like to continue, I would try to help You
... it's Your choice!

Hi vletm,

Yes do you have any suggestions, I have 23 sheets, and when you click on the file, the first page should prompt with a password for that user to unlock his sheet and view it.

Good timing...
The first page is Okay,
but why someone should to prompt with a password?
One the weakest point of this is user who will forget her/his password!
... or just use password as 'password'!
Do You have a list of users [ I mean... list of Environ("username") ] and which sheet should any user see?
Is it shared file? If shared file then users should know what do it mean.
