@Dear All,

I want to convert the figure of Rs. 143,250.00 into Rs 1.43 Lacs.

For example :-

Rs. 1,43,250.00 = Rs 1.43 Lacs
Rs. 28,55,785.00 = Rs 28.55 Lacs
Rs. 1,25,38,746.00 = Rs. 125.38 Lacs

Please help me to do this.

Hi ,

In your input data , will you have only numbers or will you also have the text Rs. ?

Generally , it is easy to format cells to Currency with the appropriate currency symbol ; it is easier to work with numbers than to use text strings.

Secondly , do you want to use only cell formatting to display what you want , or do you want it done using formulae ?

@Narayan

Good afternoon. I am attaching herewith two screen shots in which Sheet No.4 is the query and Sheet No 2 is the report in which data is required.

Total of Column F in Sheet 4 = 63713000 should be displayed as Total of Column D in sheet 2 i.e, 637.13. (In lacs) and like that.

Here, there are 3 different heads. Mov Adv, Security/EMD, & Performance. Data of each head to be
summarized below and displayed in lacs though it is in lacs, thousands or cores.

Hi ,

If you just want the figures , then using the following formula will do it :

=ROUND(A1/100000,2)

where the value in A1 is , to take your own example , 12538746.

The result will be 125.39

@Narayan,

Thanks for your reply. Actually the numeric data against each head to be converted into lacs and put into summary as per sheet D. I tried to make a pivot table.(see attachment). Here, the row data Column A (pivot table) = Column B in Sheet 2. This is okay. But, data of next 3-4 columns are coming in column wise. The output is required as per sheet 2 only.

If am using the round function, it is to be repeated in all the numeric figures. Is there any other way for better solution ?

Hi ,

It is not possible for me to reproduce your data and layout from your graphic , and then try and find out if I can solve your problem.

If you could upload a working file , it would make things easy for both of us. Since you say that is not possible , I hope someone else can pitch in and help.

Sir,,,, I tried different options, file is not uploading properly and giving error message.
I do agree, in such a case functions can be done only in a file. Please bear with me.

@Narayan,

I have done the entire data with sumif function with multiple sheets and again with =round ((cell reference)/100000,2). It is working exactly as per requirement. So nice of you.
