Grouping Columns in pivot table

I have a budget spreadsheet with 60 columns (5 years x 12 months) of data per GL account number. I have 700 rows of GL numbers.

I would like to put this data in a pivot table and group by months, quarters, etc. Is it possible with the dates in columns instead of rows?
