Goal Seek

Hi, I have an issue with the Goal Seek. After I applied the PMT function, trying to get my desired payment to a specific number. I needed to find the number of periods; instead, I got some random numbers of periods that are not even remotely close, and my payment per month is all messed up as well. Any ideas?

Maybe you set the desired payment too low. What you have is interest only with an arbitrarily large period. I set the desired payment to -$10,000 per month and goal seek returned 6 years, as might be expected. The alternative to goal seek was to use
=NPER(APR/12, -10000, PV)/12
