Formula for concatenate when Date is invloved

Hi,

I need formula help for "&" function two cells.

Example:

A1 - YTD
A2 - April-2016 (date format)
A3 - YTD April-2016 (formula required " =A1&A2")

For me it is appearing as YTD 42461

Please help

Hi,

Use TEXT function:

=A1&TEXT(A2,"dd-mmm-yyyy")

or if YTD is fixed, you can use this custom format in A3:
"YTD "dd-mmm-yyyy
