Hi All


I have a query and I guess it’s quite simple for you however I don’t have many ideas on it.


I created attached spreadsheet for my work. It’s a simple spreadsheet where I am referencing the “Journal” tab from “Allocation” tab.


Is there any better way of referencing or way I could improve this spreadsheet?

Lets says we have to reference Cells A187 to AK195 from Allocations tab which are referenced into B284 to B347 of Journal tab. Is there any better of presenting them or automating them?

Hi ,

The problem is that there is no code which can be used to sum the amounts ; the textual description has a lot of commonality and variation.

Thus the text Rent is present in more than one category ; so is the word Park.

Some of the totals can be figured out , but I am not getting the others ; if you can specify for each of the descriptions in A188:A193 , which of the values in the Journal tab should be summed , we can use functions like SUMIFS to get what we want.
