Excel not displaying date and not able to apply formulae in the sheet

Hi Expects,

I received the attached file. I am adding the date in the date column, but it is displating a number instead of date in the cell. I followed the norm of Text to column funda, but the result is same.

Also, I am trying to apply countif formula at the buttom of the sheet. I dunno whu it is not calculating it.

Thanks for the above information. Could you please help me understand why I was facing this issue and how with a click it worked.

When i checked your spreadsheet..it was showing the formulas of the spreadsheet as formulas and not as results..

So using the above shortcut conveyed to excel to show the results instead of formulas.

CTRL + ` shortcut is used to switch between show formulas view & show result view..
 
At some stage you have pressed Ctrl+~
Ctrl+~ toggles between showing the cell contents or the cells values

Dates are stored as Numbers and so Ctrl+~ will show for example 42157 in cell M2
Ctrl+~ again toggles back to showing the cell's value
in M2 it was formatted as d/mm/yyyy and so it displays 2/06/2015
