Excel Formulas

I was wondering if everyone felt that the formulas built into Excel were as accurate and helpful as you may expect in real-life when you are running a business. I am just going through school so I have yet to experience how effective they are in the real world. Thank you for any inout :)

I think a lot of businesses use Excel as an integral part of their business ; I am sure this would not be so if Excel did not cater to their requirements , to a large degree.

There are other packages , statistical , financial ,... which may satisfy a niche requirement but I think you can rest assured that if you learn Excel while in school , you will get a real headstart when you start working.

It is worth noting that Excel does not constrain you to only the built-in functions. You can find many examples on this forum (and others) of advanced formulas, User Defined Functions (UDFs) and VBA programs all of which demonstrate the power and versatility of Excel.
