employee shift schedule,Rota

Dear all
Can any one tell me how to prepare rota of approx 200 employee in excel in 4 shift

A- 6am to 2 pm
G-9 am to 6pm
b-2pm to 10 pm
C-10p to 6am


what are the formula used in making rota in excel...
i'm tired of making rota need help.

How do they rotate?
Do they have a set number of days of each shift before moving to a different shift?
Do all employees rotate all 4 shifts?
Do you have the same number of staff per shift?
Can you tell us how you currently do this by hand?

Hi ,

To add to what has already been posted , do you already have all the master data in a workbook ?

1. A list of all the employees

2. A list of all the shifts along with their timings

3. A list of all the rules , some of which have been mentioned by candybg.
