Hie forum,

I have a sheet with date in format 16.03.2011. However, i have another sheet with same data but with date in format, 16-03-2011. When i apply vlookup, the formula does not pick up the dates.

Is there a way to change the date in the format 16.03.2011 to 16-03-2011. I have some thousand dates to change like these.

Thanks

Dates are stored as Numbers but can be displayed in a number of ways

The format the date is displayed in is not used as part of lookups unless the date is stored as a Text value not as a Date

If they are stored as Text, use Column to Text to convert the Text to Dates, selecting the appropriate format
