Create searchable drop down lists referencing one data set

Hello

I am trying to create a recipe cost builder that lets me select an ingredient from a data validation list and pull through it's costs onto a table. I already have the part the pulls through the cost perfected but I would like the ability to search for ingredients within the list as my inventory is well over 1,000 items. I tried some of the methods other users used to create lists but they only work for 1 drop down and when I try and apply the validation rule to other cells it does not work. I need to have multiple drop down lists that link to the same data. I have attached the workbook so if someone could give me a hand or point me in the right direction that would be great!

It looks like a good tool but I just need something simple which is what my sheet is. I think I figured it out though if anyone can confirm that I did this right it would be great! Also how do I get my recipe table to automatically resize the columns to fit?

Do You select 1st 'Kit Type' and after that there should be select only those 'Ingredient Names' which 'belongs to that 'Kit Type'?
or what kind of 'groups' do You have to use 'multilevel drop downs'.
It's not so useful if ... 1000 items in drop down, less than 20 would be more useful.

Kit type is independent of the ingredient lists and is just used to compare the cost of the recipe to what the target cost would be. Each kit type has a specific price associated with it being pulled from another workbook. When a kit type is selected all it does is pull the kits price into the target price cell. This is used to calculate the variance between the target cost and the actual recipe cost. Ingredients are not specific to a kit. I essentially want to be able to start to type an ingredient into the recipe and have the list populate with only ingredients that contain those characters. I think I have it that way now with this version can you double check?

Oops ... You mean if You will write "A" then only "A"-beginning ingredient could be select ... or every ingredient which has "A"-letter? Not work!
Why not ... If You want all "green" then You'll write "green" and only ingredients which has "green" could select?
This version is slow ... but sample.
... and ONLY working with information of ingredients.
