Comparing Numbers

New Member
Hi All,

I need some help - PLEASE! I have a with 14,000 records and I need to compare the number of hours for each date. The list consists of 2 sets of data collected from 2 different databases. Each person should have 2 entries per date and I need to make sure the numbers are the same. In the example I highlighted the errors. Some of the entries have numbers in the Stipend column, which gets added to the total for that entry. Can I use Conditional Formatting to highlight the hours that are different for each day?
I really hope you can understand this and provide me with a solution.

Thank You & Happy New Year

Hi Judy,

Will the names be always in pair, like in your sample file, or they can be anywhere, like Name 1 on row 2 than for the same date Name 1 on row 10?

Regards,

Hi Somendra,
Yes the names will be as they are in the sample.
Thank You,
Judy

So that's mean Stipend column can contain alphanumeric string?

Second, if say cell F15 contains DFSTRV2
and F16 contains 2 , will they be highlighted or not?

Regards,

They wll be highlighted, so that I can check to be sure the hours in Column E are correct.
Eventually the Stipend column will be only numbers, but for now it can contain text.
