Hello everyone.. my colleague has two excel sheets, In sheet “Results” cell A2 a dropdown list contains the courses title (around 200 title), and in cell B2 the total of students, while in sheet “Courses” he has a table named “all” filled of courses and the total of students next to each course.

His requirement is to copy the total of students in cell B2 to the column B in the table “all” every time the value change in cell B2 without affecting the previous one.

Sample file attached.

Thanks

I don't see any dropdown list.

Also do you mean macro should run each time dropdown change in A2 only?

Data should be pasted at bottom of table in Courses sheet each time instead of replacing existing results?

Thanks Chirayu,
Dropdown located in sheet "Results" cell A2.
the scenario should be like this: you pick from the dropdown list and type in cell B2 the total students for the specified course, and what in cell B2 should be pasted to the same course in column "total of students" in table "all" sheet "Courses".
is it possible to create a formula to do that job?

Assumes all courses are present in the courses sheet. Will replace existing values for student number. Click paste button to paste

That's literally what he needs, thanks Chirayu it's been a great help. I am wondering "if it's possible" to create a formula instead.
thanks again to you, and to our wonderful forum.

There no formula solution to pasting the data into the sheet as you're going from single cell (results sheet B2) to finding between multiple cells (course sheet column B)
