assistance to open dat file stuck rename it as txt

Can anyone help how to open a( aa.dat )file in excel I am stuck.

It comes an interface not from mine.
Tried to open note pad unreadable
rename .txt

No issue with Notepad !

As it's a text file (fixed width type) , just open it in Excel
as a text file and well answer to the assistant or use
Excel Data Convert function (same assistant to fill out) …

In Excel
Goto File, Open

Change to the correct directory
Change file types to All
Select the file and open


Select Fixed Width
Add Field markers as appropriate
Finish
