Any way to convert H:MM to decimal value?? (e.g. 8:45 = 8.75)

I thought this would be an easy task - simply convert H:mm to a decimal value! I wasn't able to find a solution on any websites. I thought there'd be any easy way to do something as common as this must be, but it eludes me - can someone help me with this "simple" dilemma??

Just multiple with 24

for example
=8.45*24 = 8.75

Multiply with 24 just cool and simple.

Here is one more:
=HOUR(A1)+(MINUTE(A1)/60)
