Allowing text to spill over into adjacent cell

In cell D4 of the attached file, I am using a near vertical orientation for the text. But the text continues "under" row 3.

How can I make the enter text still show while maintaining the same row height?

In cell G9, notice how the text continues beyond the current column. I am trying to achieve the same result in D4, except I want to the text to continue showing past the current row.

Short answer is you cannot, if you want to keep the same row and column size but enter more data than the cell will hold then it will show as spilling over into adjoining cells but as soon as you select an adjoining cell and enter data then your text will be truncated.
If you use somthing like wrap text from the ribbon then the cell size will grow to accommodate the text but all cells in that row will take on the same size

Old saying....you can't get a quart into a pint glass.

You could use a text box but any underlying text and conditions will be hidden if the text box covers many cells.

There are two other ways to do it, one is to merge cells and should not be used the other is centre selection which should be used.

But your cells will have to grow to accomadate your text.

Yes, I know what you mean about truncating when you enter data in a neighboring cell. But in my case, since I want to text to vertical, I would think this shouldn't be a problem because I am not entering any date in the row above the cell which has a vertical alignment.

You say you donot want to alter the cell size, but you want to enter what ever text is needed, this you cannot do with out altering the cell sizes.
When you say you have no data in the cell above so your text should auto flow in to the empty cell, why should it, you have not told excel to do this, although it appears to have flowed into the cell, it has not, it is floating over these empty cells, it is up to you to decided how you want to fill the text into the cells, and I hope you do not use merge.
